Part-Time Baker/Pastry Cook

This position is ideal for pastry students looking to work between 2 to 3 days a week in order to gain professional kitchen experience and supplement their income.  This position may lead to a full-time position with full benefits for those demonstrating the drive and aptitude.


*Currently enrolled in a certified Baking and Pastry program for at least one year or equivalent in retail bakery/hotel experience.
* Clean-as-you-go work habit
* Professional grooming
* Motivated student of pastry, be familiar with current trends
* Eye for detail
* Know the following methods/skills: Basic Knife Skills; Creaming Method; Foaming Method; Classic frozen mousse techniques (know the difference among frozen parfait, bombe and mousse); Basic Cake Decorating; Yeast Dough production; know how to make pate a choux; 123 dough; 321 dough; pastry cream and other custards; & basic chocolate tempering and confectionery work.
* Flexible hours: Most shifts are between 4 am to 9 pm
* Sense of Urgency and Avoid the downward spiral
* Multi-Tasker
* Food Handler’s Permit
