POSITION DESCRIPTION: CAFE STAFF
Status: Part-Time
Purpose: Support/assist café and staff by contributing to an appealing environment for visitors by assuring all Food Service operations are a positive reflection of PSC in order to significantly enhance the guest’s experience.
Key Job Responsibilities:
a) Light food prep and portioning
b) Shelf stocking
c) Maintaining cleanliness of café inside and out
d) Filling vending machines
e) Supporting café food prep
f) Cleanliness of equipment, machines, tables and chairs
g) Dishwashing
h) OTHER duties as assigned
4) Major Challenges and Special Conditions: A Pacific Science Center uniform must be worn at all times and flexibility in scheduling is essential.
5) Position Requirements: Knowledge, Education, Skills, Experience, Abilities
a) Required –Experience operating basic kitchen equipment/tools efficiently and safely; Dependable and punctual, highly motivated, energetic and responsible; Superior customer service skills; Flexible to respond to changing operational needs both in terms of management’s needs and customer’s needs; Comfortable with high volume business levels as well as multitasking; Smiling team player; Positive attitude; Service oriented; Food handlers permit (or willingness to obtain upon hiring)
b) Desired – High volume deli, café or similar food institution; Catering experience; High School Diploma or GED
