Seasonal Grounds Worker


Shift: Monday - Friday; 6:30am - 3:00pm

Employment Status: Temporary Full Time

Location: Everett Naval Station


Northwest Center Integrated Facilities Services is looking for a Grounds Worker Located in the Everett area. This position performs maintenance task as directed by the Lead Grounds Worker or the Operations Supervisor such as mowing, edging, weeding, pruning and operation of power equipment.

This is a Seasonal Position and will start approx. 3/1/13 and end approx. 10/25/13 working 40 plus hours a week.

Reponsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Regular, reliable and punctual attendance is required

Meet professional standards of appearance and conduct


Complete assigned tasks according to contract quality requirements; may include but are not limited to:

Lawn mowing

Edging

Pruning

Weeding and cultivating

Blowing

Raking

Operate power equipment and hand tools in a safe and efficient manner.

Perform simple, routine maintenance on equipment (for example, check oil levels, clean equipment after use, etc.).

Abide by safety standards when operating equipment, and when using chemicals, gasoline and other petroleum products, hand tools, and other materials incident to the job; and perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner

Perform other job related duties as assigned by Lead Grounds Worker, Operations Supervisor or NWC management




Requirements:

Six (6) months work experience in landscape maintenance preferred

Current WA state drivers license and an acceptable 5 year driving record

Some working knowledge of the care and maintenance of lawns, planted beds, trees, shrubs, and plant materials

Able to pass a Washington State Patrol and other background checks as determined by NWC (e.g., General Services Administration Security Clearance, Department of Defense clearance) and specific to assigned site and duties

Able to understand and follow instructions

Awareness and knowledge of safety procedures such as eye/ear protection and equipment operation around the public

Demonstrated ability to work independently and self motivate

Demonstrated ability to meet customer and NWC expectations regarding quantity and quality of work

Candidates must pass a criminal history background check, Federal Clearance and other applicable background checks prior to employment.
