Weekend Donation Station Attendant - Northwest Center

We are looking for part-time Donation Station Attendants to work for our Seattle Thrift Sales Department. This position assists the public by accepting screened donations and properly loading these donations onto pre-assigned stationary trucks, answering questions and providing information pertaining to Northwest Center's mission, the disposition of donated goods, and the positive impact these donations have on Northwest Center's services.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for part-time work during the weekend. This position will be based out of the South Seattle or Auburn Depot location. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Work flexible hours that are subject to change based on seasonality, and work schedule as written
Drive donation truck as instructed by management
May be called upon to assist at onsite donation stations in Savers stores
Daily prepare truck prior to leaving base by checking fluids, lights, tires, etc, for proper functionality, and reporting any vehicle problems to the driver supervisor
Drive to and park at pre-assigned location and prepare for shift activities
Efficiently assist each customer with their donation, and while screening items for acceptability provide a high degree of customer service that enhances Northwest Centers€™s reputation
Distribute information, literature and bags as required
Accurately track and record donations onto a log sheet throughout shift, separating them into three categories (cloth, miscellaneous and furniture)
Properly separate donations into three categories (cloth, miscellaneous and furniture) and stack items on the truck in a logical and orderly manner
Accurately and thoroughly fill out truck report
Unload truck at designated store, or trailer, as indicated by supervisor and complete store card to document unload from truck
Perform other work related duties as assigned

Requirements:
Valid Washington State driver's license
Clean five (5) year driving record
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to lift goods weighing 25lbs. consistently and on occasion up to 75lbs and ability to maintain physical activity for the duration of a 10 hour shift
Ability to pass criminal history background check, pre-employment drug test, and fit for duty

COOK - QUEEN ANN - NW CENTER KIDS


The Cook is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy kitchen environment. Plans menus and prepares daily breakfasts, lunches and afternoon snacks for enrolled children, maintains all records, and orders for groceries and supplies.


Essential Functions:
•Regular and punctual attendance is required
•Plans appropriate menu cycles for the food program
•Provides appropriate substitutions for children with special diets and allergies
•Orders and purchases from food supply food items to prepare meals in accordance with Dept. of Agriculture Food Program guidelines
•Prepares breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack as dictated by menu cycle
•Monitors menus and meals and maintains accurate records as stated in Department of Agriculture Food Program contract
•Responsible for communicating to the Director of Early Learning, any needs for kitchen equipment and appliances
•Maintains a safe and healthy kitchen environment
•Oversees daily operation of the kitchen, assisting in all areas as needed
•Under the supervision of the Director of Early Learning, consults with Public Health Nutritionist for the purpose of keeping informed of USDA regulations and DEL licensing regulations
•Participates in events designed to ensure quality food program
•Provides support to co-workers
•Exhibits teamwork, courtesy, and a positive demeanor
•Schedules assigned kitchen aides to ensure smooth program operations
•Remains on site at the CDP throughout the shift to ensure food needs of children and staff are met at any time during operating hours
•Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Other Functions:
•Supports classroom cooking projects and nutrition curriculum

Education:
•Must have or obtain valid Washington State food handlers permit prior to beginning employment

Experience:
•A minimum of 2 years cooking experience required
•Experience cooking for groups of children and working with people with disabilities is also preferred

•Demonstrated knowledge of menu planning and meal preparation
•Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate food preparation
•Demonstrated knowledge of safe food storage and handling
