Student Affairs Office Assistant
Position Description:
• Provide customer service for Career Services and Student Affairs which includes housing & disability services.
• Represent the department and the institute in a professional manner.
• Act in accordance with the department guidelines established by the Dean of Student Affairs.
• Answer incoming calls and direct them to the requested party or appropriate staff member.
• Assist in the preparation of special events including: Portfolio Review, Job Fair, Cap and Gown services, etc.
• Assist students in learning a variety of adaptive technologies
• Read and/or scan, and edit texts into alternative formats
• Provide notetaking assistance to students w/disabilities
• Strong organizational skills
• Dress professionally
• Ocassionally lift boxes or pull a dolly
Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communications
• Customer service oriented skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and be self-directed
• Strong computer skills including excel and word
• Work study eligible preferred
• Must carry 12 credits
Approx. 20 hrs. per week
Salary: min. wage $9.04 hr.
