Job Description:   Position: Join Pacific Science Center as an IMAX Usher for the summer! IMAX Ushers work to enhance the Guest Experience in Pacific Science Center's theaters. If you enjoy helping people and have an interest in film this is a great summer job! IMAX Ushers must be able to serve the public in a friendly and courteous manner and should be highly motivated with an energetic and responsible attitude. The ideal candidate must be able to relate well to diverse staff and clientele, be dependable and punctual as well as flexible to respond to changing IMAX Usher needs both in terms of management's needs and customers' needs. Additionally, Ushers must be at least 17 years of age due to movie content

• Positions incumbent interfaces with inside and outside organization: Guest Services & Theater staff, guests
• Status: Part Time, Temporary through September 9, 2012 
• Compensation: $9.15/hour

3. Key Job Responsibilities:

a. Guest Service: Provide for a pleasurable movie going experience for PSC patrons by facilitating entry, exiting, and care of guests via validation of tickets; distribution, collection, and cleaning of 3D eyewear; and responding to guests needs and problems in the theater.

b. Operational Support: Contribute to overall operational success by working collaboratively with projectionist to assure quality control in the theater, lending support and assistance other Guest Services personnel as needed, and assisting in theater maintenance.

c. Asset Supervision: Contribute to the maintenance of valuable PSC assets by guarding against the theft of property, performing routine maintenance and cleaning of property, and promptly reporting any malfunctions.

d. Other duties as assigned

4. Major Challenges and Special Conditions: PSC uniform must be worn at all times while on the job; Part time; variable hours including days, evenings, and weekends.
